Schools and Education
Helena is home to Carroll College, a small, Catholic liberal arts institution that gets rave reviews from the various college rating services. It has 1,500 students, a diverse academic program and a price tag far below that of comparable colleges in the East.
The University of Montana-Helena College of Technology is also located here. It offers associates degrees in 16 occupational programs, and access to the rest of the UM system through telecommunications.
The city has a well-respected public school system. It includes 11 elementary schools, two middle schools, two traditional high schools and one high school that provides alternative learning opportunities. The school district also has an extensive adult and continuing education program.
